On October 30, 2024, SotaTek, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea IT Business Promotion Association (KOIPA), a prominent organization dedicated to advancing Korea’s IT business sector, with headquarters in Seoul. This partnership marks a strategic alliance between Vietnam and South Korea aimed at accelerating digital transformation initiatives for local governments and enhancing IT education in Korea.

Cooperation between SotaTek and KOIPA

The MOU, signed by SotaTek Korea’s CEO James Le and KOIPA’s CEO Choi Tai Rim, sets forth a mutual commitment to collaborate on various projects, focusing on Korea’s local governments and educational institutions. Through the joint Global Digital Collaboration (GDC) project, SotaTek and KOIPA aim to expand and innovate IT-driven solutions, address local community needs, and fill critical skill gaps in the IT sector. The cities initially targeted under this initiative include Jeju City, Andong City, Daegu City, and Busan City, with additional partnerships expected in the near future.

The partnership involves a coordinated approach to the digital transformation of these cities, with KOIPA taking the lead in developing business models and formulating collaboration strategies with local governments, while SotaTek will establish a dedicated team to ensure project execution, personnel management, and quality assurance. A project development team composed of members from both organizations will oversee and drive the success of these initiatives.

In addition to supporting digital transformation, the MOU emphasizes the importance of IT education in Korea. The partnership aims to facilitate training and recruitment programs for international students at Korean universities, with a focus on equipping them with relevant IT skills. This initiative addresses the need for skilled personnel in Korea’s IT industry, as well as enhancing opportunities for international students in the region.

This MOU highlights the continued strengthening of Vietnam-Korea relations in the technology sector and reflects both organizations' shared vision to support digital innovation, develop talent, and drive long-term growth in the Asia-Pacific IT market.
